experience: My first Tull concert was A Passion Play back in '73.
Before that I had only seen acts like Rare Earth and the Beach Boys - you
know, music to get drunk and socialize by.  Tull was the so much better.
All I wanted to do was listen to the music and watch the band,
oblivious to any smoking , drinking or talking around me.  What a show!

Favorite concerts:
1) A Passion Play - my first
2) "A" - Tull with a light show - awesome
3) Living With the Past - Ian's voice returns
4) Stormwatch - Ian cuts down the ship's rigging
5) War Child - Blonde 4-piece and zebra turds

experience: I saw a Living With the Past concert in Tunica
(Robinsonville) Mississippi last spring (5/4/02)at the Grand.  The sound system
there was magnificent and it was a great concert despite technical
difficulties cutting the encore short.

During the 80's there was a long gap between concerts for me.  I loved
the A concert but did not get to see the boys again until the Crest
tour.  Although I thoroughly enjoyed the Crest concert I did notice that
Ian's voice was in trouble and it seemed to get worse during each tour
during the 90's.  I am happy to report that Ian's voice was great at the
Tunica concert.  During Jack-In-The-Green and Wondering Aloud he even
had me wondering if he was lip-syncing!  (He wasn't).

experience: I saw the Rubbing Elbow concert in Cincinnati this past
fall (10/12/02).  This acoustic concert with a new band was outstanding.
Highlights for me were a new arrangement of Bouree (different time
signature) and a jazzy version of Fat Man with Ian's son James shining on
the bongos.

The concert was nearly ruined for me by a couple of loose-lipped drunks
talking full voice during the middle half.  Thankfully the police
eventually came and escorted the pair away.

A friend and I saw Tull in Appleton last month.  It was my first Tull concert (and his too).  I thorouhly enjoyed it-it was an awesome show.  The band put so much energy into the performance and Ian was quick with his jokes.  The highest points for me were hearing Martin play solo for my first time, hearing songs from Ian's new solo album (especially Eurology), and hearing some of my favorite Tull songs live.  The only low points for me were Ian using a voice enhancer on the Songs From the Wood/Too Old Too Rock 'n' Roll/Heavy Horses medly and Budapest (I've never really liked that song).  I wish they would have played Thick as a Brick in lieu of that, but oh well.  I had a great time.
